LOL @ above poster’s incorrect overanalyzation.

“Kamichu” is a pun, and a quite simple one at that. Yurie goes to chuugakkou (equivalent to junior high) and becomes a kami (god). Hence, Kami-Chuugakusei, or KamiChu.

Kamichu means kind of, short for Kami no michi you can say.. Like instead of saying a -Yomimasu form meaning reading, You coud say Hon-chu (book-doing) is short way of saying reading. So kamichu is like saying kami-doing, or Jinja Shinto practice, The hexogonal box is omikuji, and you can se basic shinto things in the photos, but i dont know who she got on the talbe with sanpo and offering kensen in front of heiden, it doesent make sence. Oh but the rest maby not so real i think though.

Any show with Chiwa Saito involved further increases the loli effect, and how fitting that they would have Masunari Koji — kantoku to the quintessential pedo anime, Kokoro Library — at the helm to keep things in check.

The seiyuu for Yurie is quite young herself - clocking in at 19 this October.

Kamichu! is indeed in good hands.
