God is teasing me! Just like he teased Moses in the desert. Tested? Hah, tested my ass. I’ve been without an Internet connection for over a week. A week! Where is my fucking Medal of Honor?

The saddest part was that my ISP was aware of my problem and had said that they would send a guy to take a look on it on Tuesday the next week. Tuesday! I called on a Thursday and they would take a look on it on Tuesday the next week! Talk about piss poor support.

So did anything happen on Tuesday? No. Called tech support again on Wednesday. I asked if the technician had found the problem at the telephone station, because he sure didn’t show up at my place. The tech support guy was silent. Eventually he asked me to turn off the modem and then turn it on again. I didn’t even bother. I was told to hold on for a little while, presumably while he earned some extra cash at the men’s restroom for services that shall remain unmentioned. When he finally came back, he told me he couldn’t get a hold of the technicians because they were on lunch break. This was 3:00PM.

Thursday. Called again. Déjà Vu.

Technician? We haven’t sent any technician. From what you have said, it sounds as if your modem doesn’t work properly, tried to restart it? Oh, really? Well, I can have a guy look into it earliest on Tuesday next week because [random bullshit]. No, this isn’t the Candid Camera show. Sir, please sir… mind your language, sir. Ok, forget the random bullshit I mentioned earlier, I’ll have someone over at your place tomorrow, around 5:00PM. *click*

Someone rings on the door bell at 11:00AM. I lead him to the closest phone jack. He messes around with it and after five minutes comes to the conclusion that someone has messed up pretty badly at the telephone station because apparently my line is connected to someone else’s number. He takes off.

Thirty minutes later, it all works.

What I really wanted to say was that it might take a week or two and perhaps a dropped series before I’m up to date with the latest episodes again.
