Before I start, I should mention that I have no experience nor knowledge in studio photography, lightning equipment, shutter speeds and God knows what.

I stole a poster from my part-time job yesterday to use as a background in my highly improvised studio. The security guard stopped me, but I pointed at the three-headed monkey behind him and made a run for it. I guess I won’t be back on Monday.

After shaking off the cops, I went back to my Pedocave to set up my photostudio. I took the poster I stole, taped part of it to a flat surface and then put something relatively heavy behind the poster, something heavy enough to withstand the pushback force of the poster. In my case it was a christmas goat. Rest in peace, father christmas goat. I now had a background in the shape of an exponential function, don’t know any better way to explain it.

With the background finished, the only thing remaining was the light. Found a couple of old lamps in a dark corner. Being able to move the lamps to create different effects is probably a good thing. It all looks the same to me, though.

Don’t ask me what the aluminium foil and the greaseproof paper are good for. I simply don’t know. I thought they, you know, kinda looked cool.

Total cost: $0

I’m quite content with the result, came out real nice considering the price range and lack of prior experience. What I need now is a tripod and a new camera, any millionaire willing to sponsor me?

If you want to see more pictures, head over to the image board I set up today. There are to my knowledge no English image boards dedicated to figures, please don’t tell me Simpsons (or someone else) already did it.

Feel free to post anything relevant to my interest. Remember, common sense. But perverted common sense is still common sense.
