Grose. Also, this was in Japan. Most schools in the US don’t have official swimsuits, even if they have pools.

My high school did have a pool, and swimming proficiency was required, but we had to provide our own swimsuits. Swimming class was pretty fun, since if you knew how to swim, you could basically just do whatever.

On Monday, I was trying to do an essay on gender and sexuality, and today I was supposed to be working on semiotics but instead ended up making this abomination. “The Meer recap ep is my favorite episode of Gundam Seed Destiny” sounds like the start of some kind of sarcastic comment about the proliferation of stock footage in GSD, but in all seriousness, there’s just something about the point-of-view in this episode that I find really interesting, and what specifically got me thinking about all of this was well, that shot of her ass. Yeah, it’s just blatant, random, gratuitous fanservice. The thing is, that shot wasn’t in the original episode. In the original episode, Athrun falls out of the bed after he sees Meer’s shoulders and head. But in this flashback, there’s her ass, which pricks me (but also bruises me, is poignant to me). Who exactly is remembering that ass? It’s Meer’s journal and her voice narrating everything, so is she remembering it? Or is it Athrun, Kira, and Meyrin visualizing her ass? […]
