Loli Battle: March of the Black Queen

The brackets for the loli character battle are finished.

When I decided have a popularity contest such as this I originally intended to keep it on a small scale. But when I went through all your suggestions I realized that I would never be able to pick sixteen characters without knowing that I’ve missed someone.

The final list consists of 64 characters from fairly recent (~2005 and forward) anime series. Depending on how this goes, there might be a classic loli character battle in the future.

Nothing is set in stone yet, there is still time to make changes. If you feel that character X isn’t loli enough and should be replaced with character Y feel free to say so and I will take your suggestion in consideration.

(I might remove someone and put in Pleinair)

The rules are simple:

Voting begins and ends at midnight, GMT+1.
The character with most votes after 24h advances to the next round.
The winner of each group goes on to the final round.

p.s. there might be some mistakes, I haven’t had time to look through the list yet.

Hm, not that I wouldn’t like to see her winning, but Elis Housen is definitely no loli. The same goes for Aka Onda. I’d like to see Sana from Innocent Venus here. And don’t forget our lovely Al Azif from Demonbane.

Oh, and Kyon’s little sister is named Imouto.

Depending on definition of loli, they might be able to be categorized as loli. Yuki is less loli than them anyway

The one that surprised me more was Onda Aka. I mean, she’s a legal adult (20!) dating a man in her age bracket. Maybe slightly on the juvenile-looking side, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see her called loli in less distinguished places, but I’m sure many of lolitron’s patrons would call her obasan already.

Imouto is Japanese for little sister. I see her referred as キョンの妹 (Kyon no imouto - Kyon’s little sister) all the time. People just call her Imouto-chan in lack of a real name.

Nice choice, but no single character of Onegai Twins? Not even Ichigo Morino, the goddess of all lolis? If anyone is supposed to take part in a loli contest it’s her.

Don’t forget that there is still a difference between little girl and loli and that Ichigo Morino certainly belongs to the group last mentioned.
Of course, there are different definitions of loli but from all the characters I know she has got the most characteristics that match with the original definition.

I’m sorry but I dont feel that any of the Rozen Maiden dolls could be considered loli and if anything the one that would be considered to have to have the most loli tendencies would be Hana ichigo.

No “Otogi Juushi Akazukin” charas!!!! It was the best loli anime of 2006!!!
At least, you should add Akazukin and remove Suigintou, because she doesn’t look loli, even if she is my favourite Rozen Maiden.

I’m extremely content with these listings however I am a bit hazy on how to vote. By a bit hazy I mean I have no idea, you’re about 9 hours ahead of me so maybe I completely missed it. I’d like to support my characters though, so…help plZ.

How did you place characters in the grids? At random? Was there no seeding system? Why is the final on 1/31? I guess these and other questions may never be answered

I circumvented that problem by including Tsubasa Chronicle characters.

Yes, “random.” 1/31? I’m afraid you lost me there. If all goes as planned, this will run well into March. The bracket for the final round isn’t completed yet.

abq, Yuki from Suzumiya Haruhi and Rena from Higurashi also aren’t much loli. Satoko could take over one of them I didn’t notice Onda isn’t there anymore.

The reason why so many people are complaining is that you have no seeding. The big moe tournaments (and ANN’s moe tourney) seeded the big hitters so they wouldn’t meet in the early rounds. That’s why I said the final was on 1/31, two of the biggest hitters against eachother far too early.

I also have another suggestions…
Misuzu Kamio from Air and Kanon’s Shiori Misaka could be exchanged for the more loli, Chocotto Sister’s Choco and Chika Koizumi from Kyou no go no ni.

I don’t want the first rounds to be too boring so there are a couple of popular characters facing off each other.

I’m making adjustments as we speak (already changed 1/31 once and might do it again). I pulled an allnighter to put together the list so I wasn’t exactly in a normal state of mind.

I’m not sure I agree with Suigintou being included. She may be a small doll, but she has a post-pubescent figure fitting of a slender 14-15 year-old. Don’t you think? Not a loli, IMO.

I’m biased towards Souseiseki, so I’d actually rather her be on instead of Suigintou.

sakura & aishia (da capo) -> DCSS
dokuro-chan & sabato-chan (bokusatsu tenshi dokuro-chan)
puchiko & dejiko (i think winter garden is aired around xmas 2006, but dejiko is already 20 T_T.. well puchiko is 15.. its up to you)
