It boils down to the worst common denominator of such contests- popularity, like a high school election.

LOLI is a very broad and ambiguous spectrum, seeing as how the only definitions out there are wikipedia based LITERAL definitions. That means they’re to be made as general as possible. So don’t take the words that are put in front of you at completely face value.
Also as for the picture, and whether or not so and so is a loli, who are you to judge? Especially by fanart which is MADE to look different from the norm, or the “definition” of loli. I can’t stress this enough that her being in this is unfair. Not only does she not qualify, but she will win despite her lack of qualifications which will totally destroy the contest credibility as a loli battle.
Sorry for the double post but the only reason Yuki won is not for being a loli (which she clearly isn’t) but because for some people (age 13-18/new younger viewers)it’s impossible to vote against her because she was in the most popular show they know of for their generation of viewers (Plus they’ve never been educated on common sense). People can’t be counted to vote realistically if they are so easily blinded by Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu. (How do you think Schwarzenegger the Action movie Super Star won the governership)

Imouto doesnt have the slightest chance to win this thing.. Her first match was up against the weakest character in this entire competition. Loli-in-a-bag means nothing when you get 10minutes of aire time.

Well, she beat Mashiro handily in SaiMoe, and will do it again here. So she’ll be up against (probably) Desu in the Group Final. IF she can get by Desu, and the Harutard army continues to show up, anything can happen once the Quarterfinals start. 10 minutes of airtime in the right series is worth more than being the lead in most series.
