   Right, yes, this is a topic that I can definitely deal with.

   As a male person of a certain age (mid 50’s) I was introduced to feminism in the early 1970’s. My partner discovered it when she was still a young girl, furtively masturbating in her lonely, virginal bedroom. Once she met me, she taught me how to cook and then invited her seperatist lesbian feminist friends around so she could show off her trophy boyfriend and his culinary skills, and they could talk about the consistency of their vaginal mucus over dinner. The next morning her friends would wander around in their see-through nighties and pretend not to notice as I stared at their unkempt forests of body hair.

   Fast forward to today, where I have a (lesbian) daughter who thinks that feminism is well past its sell-by date. I guess I agree with her. Feminism is an idea that was very necessary in its time, but has now achieved all that can reasonably be achieved without significant genetic re-engineering of the human race. The great success of feminism was in letting women not be ashamed to realise that they actually wanted to fuck as much as men did. As one of the leading lights of modern feminist theory (and alleged pedophile), Germain Greer, once put it, “A full cunt is better than an empty cunt”.

   So, there you have it. Freud prepared the way by showing that children were sexual beings just as much as adults were, and feminism showed that women wanted to have sex as much as men. Now put the two together and profit

    A feminist article asked why some women felt liberated by pornography, because it is obvious that women who participate in it fake pleasure responses. While it is true that on some level they are acting, it is also true that the assumption that no one could derive pleasure from the experience is a sexist view. Whether debauchery or morality, when lawful, are one’s personal gift and choice.

    Do we need declarations of what may or may not bring individual pleasure? Should it be assumed that “bad” sexual behavior between consenting adults results in faking it?

    Hypocritical self-righteousness has been responsible for harming more people then wicked naughtiness. I pulled the last sentence out of my hat.

    The rule: for every naughty act one participates in he or she is desensitized to a level that negates the pleasure of the act until one no longer responds sensually. This is the appropriate punishment or kharma-babble for naughtiness.

Check your facts. Sure, you have a small margin of leeway on the commentary/opinion pages, but if your going to make an opinion, make it as airtight as you can; otherwise don’t make it. Informed opinions, ideas that you formulate based on solid evidence.

    New millenium, new rules. The idea of informed opinion, and even informed news has gone the way of, well, the lessons my teachers taught me not so long ago. These lessons weren’t just something you could curb out of a syllabus; it was hammered into you so much that it followed you out of the class room “Your editors will devour you down to the bone”, was the warning we got on at least one occasion. “No one likes a hothead”, was another.

    Hothead. Yeah, next poll/opinion page please, I’m not done bemoaning the lack of credibility yet.

    Yeah, that’s something I noticed early in life (Around 3rd or 4th grade). Girls get special treatment with even early taught rules like “never hit a girl” (Which I agree with but why not “never hit ANYONE”?).

    Also, if a woman said you raped her you’re screwed because the police are never going to believe you no matter what you say. You’re a sex hungry man after all.

    The enitire gist of the article seems to be: men have discovered a lifestyle where they are happy and still spending a lot less money than women - that constant shopping and eating overpriced food in cafes and restaurants is something men should aspire to.

    I think the agenda behind the article was summed up by this paragraph:

    You’ve just hit the nail on the head, several times. Basically because women want to be more independant it makes us guys more financially independant to explore ourselfs, our needs and our aspirations.

    This means we dont need to spend as much time with women as we want and dont have to spend enough money on them. What could be better that saving £50 to yourself instead of some expensive pair of shoes which she’ll never wear, so you can go out partying with your mates, and you dont need to try pull a girl.

    When it comes to personal issues such as sexuality, it’s not society’s (or anyone else’s) job to bring people up one way or another. That would be social engineering at best, and oppression at worst. People should be free to explore their own sexuality. I envy my daughter’s freedom to express her sexual orientation and have a female partner - I only wish that I was free to express mine IRL
