Measured in terms of depravity, insularity and traffic-driven turnover, the culture of /b/ has little precedent. /b/ reads like the inside of a high-school bathroom stall, or an obscene telephone party line, or a blog with no posts and all comments filled with slang that you are too old to understand.

This is actually quite an interesting article. Not that I’d know anything about that. After all, you can’t expect a man with my condition to read seven pages of text without any pictures in between. It’s not easy living with constantus erectus but I try to take it day by day — load by load.

Browsing /b/ gives you insight to what is really going on in the teenage mind. Seriously. Racism, sex, animé, sex, put-downs, sex, lolis, sex, politics (mostly parodies of), sex, and most importantly, community.

I suspect many of the inhabitants of /b/ are almost like hikikomori — they are socially-withdrawn teenagers struggling to find their place in this world of political correctness and prudishness. A place where they can let go of social stigmas and say “n-gger” and “newfag” when they want to whomever they want.

Yes, there are some questionable posts… okay, MOST of the posts are questionable… but if you look deeper, you’ll see the faces of the anonymous posters.

Um… since when did 18 and 19 stop being “teen” years… And since when did a simple “Are you 18?” question stop younger kids from visiting the site?

How do I know there are kids younger than 18 on /b/? They upload pictures of themselves occasionally. Do I know it’s them? No. Can you prove to me that it isn’t? No.

Maybe you’ve forgotten what it is to be a teen, but I haven’t. 4chan’s /b/ is a perfect draw for teens. It’s “forbidden” and has sexually-related pictures and posts. If I was still 13, I’d be on the site saving every picture I could.
