   One more example of why you shouldn’t feed trolls or take anything you encounter on the internet too much to heart. Just this week in Philadelphia — somewhere is south Philly — a shooting took place that started as an argument on Facebook between girls that turned into a catfight in the streets that caused the boys with them to pull out their guns and start shooting. And yes, someone got killed, but Mayor Nutter and Police Commissioner Ramsey are still proud that the murder rate is still low compared to previous years — oh wait! It’s a new year and we have to start a new count. I’m still counting the 300+ people killed last year!

   How can shooting up a Jewish daycare start a race war between blacks & whites? In America, many whites hate Jews as much as they hate blacks. They probably cheered at news of the event. There are many blacks that sadly are almost as hateful toward the Jews as well. Some of them probably also cheered, or at least didn’t lose any sleep over the event.
   Yes, there are a lot of overly sensitive/self absorbed people running around. Many of them are walking grudges & suicides waiting to happen. Many people just aren’t prepared for the reality that no matter who you are or aren’t, what you do or don’t do, someone’s gonna have a problem with you about it — or jokingly pretend to. When you won’t like them, they either want to kill you or themselves…or both!

    Your post is so screwed up in so many ways I barely know where to begin.

    1) You’re using slanted terminology to imply that you’re morally superior to the murderer without proof. E.g. “ragequit.”

    Yeah, you probably haven’t killed anybody, but that doesn’t mean you’re Buddha. Maybe you would kill if you were in Kato’s situation, and maybe you wouldn’t. However, if you snootily imply that you’re better, you’re definitely a jerk, even if you’re not a murderer.

    2) You’re using the apology letter as a complete summary of the murderer. Japanese cops often force prisoners to write statements under duress. Why shouldn’t we think standard procedure coerced the stupid letter out of Kato?

    3) Suicide, including Kato’s style of pointless mass-murder, happens when a human runs out of the mental resources for survival but retains enough willpower to kill one or more people. Kato just neglected to kill himself before the cops got to him. Such people generally regard themselves as losers – you’re being a jerk by agreeing with them.

    The flip side is that plenty of non-suicidal people joyfully commit mass murder for private gain – do a web search for “Blackwater” and “Xe” if you don’t believe that. Such people regard themselves as superior to the losers like Kato – you’re being a jerk like them by regarding yourself as superior to Kato.

    Wouldn’t be easier to say to not pick on the guy because we don’t know the real reason he went on a killing rampage? It seems you’re implying that the police may be making him say he lost it over internet trolling and that it’s possible that he killed for another reason. Of course, I could be wrong, and you’re just saying the police are making him apologize for forms’ sake and that he’s just saying whatever he thinks will keep the police from touching him further.
    However, I don’t think it’s so much about slighting Kato as it is about slighting his alleged motivation for killing: Hate the act; not the acter.

    And no way does murder ever make sense. One does it for profit and all sort of BS “reasons” but in the end it is still BS.This wasn’t an accident or the unforeseen outcome of other events, he decided to do it and planned it then did it. He may think he had reasons but com on folks that is just a lie we tell ourselves to justify something we intended to do before we thought up the “reason”
    Man is a reasoning animal. we do something and invent a good reason later…

    I’ve seen episodes of Bleach from time to time on Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. Saturday night/Sunday morning time frame I think. I’ve mostly been trying to watch Avatar and Naruto, so I haven’t been paying Full Metal Alchemist and Bleach much attention.

    Got a couple of episodes from Isohunt but will check out onepieceofbleach., so thanks for the tip! Anyhow wouldn’t know if good parts or even bad ones not in what I have but story is pretty well done so far. Some of the english subtitling makes me go “Wha???” but
    I expect the Japanese feel the same way about some of our grammar and usage.

    Sorry, I thought you were simultaneously taking a shot at One Piece & Bleach: That whoever got the rights to do the non-japanese versions did a really bad job.

    Funimation probably wants to market to kids who haven’t reached puberty yet. So sexy scenes of naked loli are a no-no while scenes of fully-clothed, somewhat-violent loli probably aren’t.
