If your child is using Pictochat and waiting for a stranger to pop up you might want to consider not being such a tight-fisted pussy and actually buy your kid a game. No one uses Pictochat especially not if they have a game to play. Well, that is not entirely true. I once used Pictochat to draw a penis on a store unit, but besides that Pictochat is useless.

An Urbana elementary school teacher is arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting three of his students.

26-year-old Jonathan Andrew White is accused of sexually assaulting eight-year-old girls last November.

White was a second grade teacher at Thomas Paine Elementary School in Urbana.

He was taken into custody Wednesday morning when he arrived for work.

According to the state’s attorney, White blindfolded the girls in his classroom and played sexual games with them between last September and December.

The school sent a letter home to parents Thursday about the arrest.

White pleaded not-guilty Thursday afternoon when he was arraigned on three class x felonies of predatory sexual assault.

Each count carries a mandatory prison term of six to 30 years.

White is being held in the Champaign County jail on half a million dollars bond.

Educational panel proposes longer classroom hours

TOKYO — An educational reform panel on Wednesday submitted to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe a report, featuring proposals to prolong classroom hours and allow teachers to rely on now-banned punitive behavior, as part of efforts to review the school system in Japan.

The panel, headed by Nobel Prize laureate chemist Ryoji Noyori, called for increasing classroom hours at public schools by 10%, a move aimed at drastically changing the policy of encouraging a lighter curriculum. The panel also urged authorities to try to check the ability more closely of educators by, for example, introducing a teachers’ license renewal system to stamp out “unfit teachers.”

All high school students should be compulsorily involved in community services to learn social norms, the panel said. It also called for easing directives issued in the 1940s to ban teachers’ physical punishment of students to control problematic behavior and curb bullying.

Fury at minister’s gaffe on ‘child-bearing machines’

Japan’s health minister provoked fury when he referred to women as “child-bearing machines” in a speech intended to address the country’s drastically declining birth rate.

“The number of women aged between 15 and 50 is fixed,” he told the ruling Liberal Democratic Party in the city of Matsue. “Because the number of birth-giving machines and devices is fixed, all we can ask is for them to do their best per head.”

Student faces child porn charges

FALL RIVER - A college student who mistakenly submitted a compact disc loaded with child pornography images to his professor last week is now facing felony kiddie porn possession charges.

Andrew Erickson, 18, of 57 Lee’s River Ave., Swansea, was arrested by Fall River and Swansea police late last week. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge and was released after a family member posted his $500 cash bail.

The Bristol Community College student was to submit his computer information systems final examination on compact disc last week.

But instead of submitting the class work, Erickson allegedly handed in a disc that contained images of children as young as 7-years-old in sexually explicit situations. The disc, according to police reports, listed each youth by age, ranging from 7 to 14.

Prior to being arrested, Erickson apparently realized he had handed in the wrong disc to his professor.

Police reports quote an e-mail Erickson sent to his professor, in which he appears to attempt to shift ownership of the disc from himself to an unnamed friend.

“Oh snap, I am sorry. I accidentally gave you my friend’s mixed music CD that I meant to keep here and install the music on my computer,” Erickson said in an e-mail to his professor. “I found the CD with the (final exam) on it. If there’s some way I could send it to you, that would be great.

“I am sorry about that, and hope it didn’t affect the grade at all. Again, if I could get that CD back so that I can install the music. Sorry for the mix up.”

Erickson is due back in Second District Court for a pretrial hearing Feb. 21.

So that’s where I put my music cd! I mean, oh snap indeed. Talk about pure self-pwnage. Moreover, installing music? Not even computer illiterates would buy that story.
