A thousand times good night

Third year anniversary
Yay.

That’s it?
Yeah. Remind me to add Bisuke-tan to Loli Battle.

Lame
I’m tired, had a six hour long exam today. I’m pretty sure it went well, but it’s hard to concentrate enough to write for that long without taking fapping breaks.

Winter made glorious summer

Hosting bill is paid
Thanks to Angelus, a guy from Los Lunas NM, Sixten and a few other kind benefactors, lolitron will stay online for at least another year, that is a promise. I reserve the right to nullify promises in the case of force majeure or the inevitable Armageddon as foretold by Jehovas’ Witnesses or other similar events. Blowing a loli fuse shall be considered as the latter.

Why not accept free hosting from anonymous Internet user?
I got a few offers from people who were willing to host my blog free of charge. I’m probably stupid for not accepting them, but I’m some what of a control freak — a paranoid control freak. I don’t like people touching my stuff. Not to mention that moving all the files would take an eternity.

How about ads?
I generally don’t want to make my blog more cluttered than it already is. Does something like AdSense really work on a moderately small site?

You should get a co-author for those slow months
Control freak. I may walk a thin line between creepiness and humour, but I know just how batshit insane I am. I don’t have to ask myself if I really meant what I wrote or just wanted to act like Tom Cruise in Oprah’s couch for shit and giggles. Because Tom Cruise isn’t really crazy, right? He is an actor and acting is what actors do. That Xenu crap… he can’t really… no?

And who is actually stupid enough to invest time in a site like this when they can use the time to find the meaning of life or masturbate or something equally rewarding?

New, fancy design
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find well-designed themes that with ease can be pinkified to make them manlier? Or to find information about usable plugins? Just fucking google it? Well, it seems like 90% of all Wordpress-related tips on the Internet are horribly outdated.

While waiting for the bus today, I went into a store to sample a few men’s magazines. I saw a copy of Macworld with a picture of Steve Jobs on the cover and instantly pitched a tent. They had an article about Wordpress where they listed a few nice themes.

It usually takes a week for me to make a theme manlier. I work at snail pace and as far as coding goes, I don’t even really know what the head tag is for. Maybe I do, I’m not a complete retard. What I want to say is that I’m good at stealing code and let the linguist inside me do the work by trial and error.

The theme is more or less intact. I implemented tags, expanded the main post at the expense of the sidebars, corrected the rounded backgrounds due to said changes and slapped Hazuki to the header. To my surprise, even after pulling a Frankenstein the theme wasn’t butchered at all.

All that is left to do is to remove some of the communist symbols and replace them with cat symbols. A quick estimate tells me that it will be done by the next millennium.

Ninja edit: I’ve only tested the site in Safari and Firefox. It probably looks fine in Opera but I suspect that the header is a bit off when it comes to colour in Internet Explorer.

Donation drive

Update coming soon.

You know the drill, ’tis the season of giving and all that. Now ask yourself, would you rather give your money to bring joy to sick kids in hospitals or to me so I can spend Christmas in abquerque keep my site one more year? If you ask me, the choice should be obvious.

The future

Dec 16, 2007 Author: abq | Filed under: Site News

It’s Christmas time again! To me that means I have to decide whether to renew my hosting plan or not.

While I’d hate to see the site disappear, I have to admit that the activity on the site hasn’t been that great lately. I need around $100 to pay for the bill of the next year. If I ask for donations, the last thing I want is for people to feel ripped off.

So what exactly does the future have in store? I don’t know. Some might expect another character popularity contest. I don’t think I’d like to go through it again alone, though. If I were to pull it off, I’d probably need some volunteers. Especially when it comes to security issues and list of participants. I know that some people did something similar with touhou characters not long ago, perhaps they learned something useful.

Add proper title

Loss of interest in wacky jappy animu, a general laziness and a rather exhausting summer job have kept me from updating this site as often as I should.

I am aware that Skygirls and Moetan among other series are relevant to my interests. I just have to find time and the will to actually sit down and watch them. You see, despite rumors of me being some kind of higher being I am merely a human being. Kinda like Raptor Jesus.

Time and energy aren’t the only things I lack nowaday. Direction is another thing. So, what do you want to see more of here?
