I will be gone for a week or two and I guess that means that I will miss the start of the new anime season. New shows should pop up soon, if they haven’t already, I can’t really say that I’ve paid attention.

Feel free to recommend upcoming shows that look interesting. I will take a look at your suggestions when I get back. With a little bit luck, you might be able to restore my interest in anime.

By the way, does anyone know any free wifi hotspots in Edinburgh?

Onii-chan no Ecchi is looking for writers and I promised I’d spread the word. Taken from their site:

We are going to cover lots of porn and stuff.

Loli’s with Onii-chan complexes, eroge, hentai, erodoujin, adult figures. Hell, we can even do some out right Asian porn. We’ll keep it Japanese though, just so long as it’s overtly sexual in some way or another.

That being said, I need some writers to help me out, so here are the requirements.

• Likes hentai, eroge (hentai games), and all that shit I just listed.
• Be intelligent about it. By this I mean, you can play the game or watch the show and compare it with other stuff objectively. That means you can’t just go “OMG! THIS GAME HAS SI BEWBZ!” for every game you play. Given, you can enjoy the hell out of all of it, but do a good job.
• Which means, BE A GOOD WRITER. Yeah, I will want some samples.
• For figures, I’ll need you to have a decent camera and the ability to buy figures. Haha, duh.

Ok, that’s about it. For samples, I want two. Don’t care what they are of, or what game/show they are for. Nothing is off limits. I will make a decision on Yaoi and shit like that sometime in the future. But for now, if that’s what you are into, send it in. Since YOU are reviewing the game/show, you will be responsible for screenshots and stuff like that. Use the regular list of anime review sites as a blueprint for this. Places like Anime on My Mind, and the review sites in AnimeNano. We won’t be doing a rating system, just reviews. Make your last paragraph a wrap up/recommendation and that’s about it. Do it in your own style. YAY!

Today is the one-year anniversary of my blog. I’d like to begin with thanking the people who helped me pay the hosting bill for yet another year. A year ago, I had no intention to continue blogging after my time with Dreamhost would run out. Yet I’m still here thanks to you.

From now on, my official title is, and always shall be, Ero-Gaijin. I believe part of the reason people come back is due to my slightly excentric persona. At first I thought it would scare away more people than it would entice, which is why I might have kept a lower profile in the beginning. The name of the blog was still a dead give-away though. I chose it because I thought it would catch people’s attention while being fairly easy to remember.

Speaking of which, did you know I greatly scare and disgust Fred Gallagher of MegaTokyo fame? That is almost a compliment, isn’t it? I wonder what it takes to scare and disgust Dom. After all, the man does have an interest in big sweaty grunting men. How could my interest in cute, occasionally naked and moaning, little girls possibly be any worse than that?

Whether you like it or not, it’s my niche. It is what makes me stand out, and most people don’t seem to mind.

Since the header image isn’t considered naked enough

I had a day off and decided play God and create a Frankenstein’s monster of WordPress themes. The idea was to have a fresh theme available just in time for this site’s upcoming one-year anniversary. I got so carried away, I spent a larger part of the night working on my unnatural creation while a storm violently raged on outside.

Late was the hour when my abomination to God was completed. Just one look with Internet Explorer to make sure that old piece of crap displays it correctly. Internet Explorer doesn’t like PNG as background? Fixed. Perfect, absolutely perfect. What the hell is this? I’m not able to mark the text to copy and paste? Fuck. Turns out the original theme had the same problem. It works in Firefox but not Internet Explorer.

After several trial and error attempts, I discovered that it is possible to mark text in Internet Explorer if I remove or break the sidebar. But the sidebar.php looks fine to me. Not that I actually know anything about coding, because I don’t.

The one-year anniversary is coming up next week. I doubt I’ll have anything ready by then. I happen to have a lot school work due for next week. Internet Explorer users have to either hold out with not being able to mark text for a week or two or simply get a better browser.

I can’t believe it has been almost a year now. A whole year with only a few minor breaks due to school work. Blogging must be the most consistent thing I’ve ever done next to masturbating.

I’m happy to announce that I’ve passed the 1,000,000 page loads-line. About 330,000 of those occurred last month. I guess that is when Google started sleeping with my blog. The traffic has in fact reached the point where it almost becomes a problem. I had to reduce the numbers of entries shown per page from 10 to 5 in order to reduce the bandwidth use. At the end of the last blling cycle, I was 5 GB below my provided bandwidth. One more day and Dreamhost would have charged me extra.

The bandwidth issue is fairly easy to control, usage of system resources is not. Dreamhost sent me a letter saying I’m using twice the fair share of system resources. Hopefully it will work out somehow.

Funny fact of the day, there is over 45,000 screencaps and thumbnails in my pictures folder.

And finally the last part, the begging part. Hosting is unfortunately not free. I put up a donate page a while ago. I have since recieved 1 donation. God bless the soul of the donator who wishes to remain anonymous. May he find many lolis at the end of the path.

I could sign up with a free blog provider, but uploading massive ammounts of screencaps without FTP-access is a tedious process. I should know, because that is what I used to do when the number of pictures still was a 2-digit figure lower than 60. Hell, there is probably not even enough space provided pictures anyway. And I don’t even want to think about the things I’m allowed and not allowed to write if I sign up with for example Blogsome.
